Ingredients:

1. Chicken pieces : 1 Kg.
2. Coconut : 1/2 (grated)
3. Red chillies : 6-8
4. Coriander seeds : 2 tablespoons
5. Peppercorns : 1/2 teaspoon
6. Ani seeds : 1/2 teaspoon
7. Cinnamon : 1" stick
8. Cloves : 5
9. Green cardamom : 2
10. Turmeric powder : 1/4 teaspoon
11. Oil : 2 tablespoons
12. Onion : 2(Big)
13. Ginger : 1" piece
14. Garlic : 6 flakes
15. Lemon : 1
16. Curd : 1 cup
17. Curry leaves : 2 strand
18. Salt : to taste


Method:

Clean, wash and marinate the chicken pieces in the juice of 1 lime and 1 cup of curd, a pinch of turmeric powder and salt for 15 minutes. Fry the coconut,red chillies, coriander seeds, peppercorns, ani seeds, cinnamon, cloves, greem cardamom on medium flame till golden brown and grind to a fine paste. Finely chop the onions, ginger and garlic. In a pan, heat the oil. Add the finely chopped onions, ginger and garlic and saute till the onions become golden brown. Add the marinated chicken and saute till all the excess water dries up. Add 3 cups of water, turmeric powder, salt to taste. Cover the pan and cook till the chicken pieces become tender. Add the ground masala and bring to a boil and cook till the gravy becomes thick.. Remove from fire, garnish with curry leaves and serve.
