Fried Chicken

Ingredients:
1. Chicken pieces(preferably leg pieces) : 4
2. Lemon : 1
3. Chilli
powder : 1/4 teaspoon
4. Turmeric powder : 1/8 teaspoon
5. Corn flour : 2
tablespoons
6. Pepper powder : 1/8 teaspoon
7. Salt : to taste
8. Onion
: 1 (medium)
9. Ginger : 1" piece
10. Garlic : 4 flakes
11. Masala
powder : 1/2 teaspoon*
12. Oil : for deep frying
Method of Preparation:
Clean and was the chicken pieces.
Marinate with the juice of 1 lemon, a pinch of salt and pepper powder for 15
minutes. Put the chicken pieces and the marinate in a pressure cooker and cook
on medium heat for 2 minutes. Remove from fire and cool. Grind the onion, ginger
and garlic to a fine paste. Mix together the onion-ginger-garlic paste, turmeric
powder, chilli powder, cornflour, masala powder and a pinch of salt. Take out
the semi-cooked chicken pieces and apply the mixture on them. In a frying pan,
heat the oil. 7. When the oil is heated, reduce the flame to medium and add the
chicken pieces covered with the mixture and fry on both sides till the chicken
becomes crisp. 8. Take out the chicken pieces,drain the excess oil and
serve.
For preparing the
masala powder, make a powder of 1 teaspoon peppercorns, 1" stick of cinnamon,
4-6 cloves, 2 green cardamoms and 1/4 teaspoon of ani seeds(saunf).
