Fried Chicken (With Crushed Masalas)


Ingredients:

1. Chicken pieces : 1 Kg.
2. Lemon : 1
3. Curd : 1 cup
4. Oil : 1/4 cup
5. Chilli powder : 1/2 teaspoon
6. Turmeric powder : 1/4 teaspoon
7. Peppercorns : 1/2 teaspoon
8. Green cardamoms : 8-10
9. Cinnamon : 1" piece
10. Cloves : 8
11. Ginger : 25 grams
12, Garlic : 15 flakes
13. Bay leaves : 2
14. Salt : to taste


Method of Preparation:

Clean and wash the chicken pieces. Coarsely crush(not grind) the peppercorns, green cardamoms, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and garlic. Mix together the juice of one lime, 1 cup curd, salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder and the crushed masala, ginger and garlic mixture in a karahi or a shallow cooking pan. Marinate the chicken pieces in the mixture for 30 minutes. Add the oil, the bay leaves and bring to a boil. When it boils, reduce the flame and cook on low fire. stirring occassionally till the oil starts leaving the mixture and the masala becomes crisp. Remove from fire and serve.
